Have you stood at this location?
If so, you were at the corner of Charles Street and Beacon. The building pictured at the center above (64 Beacon Street) is believed to have been the private home of Charles Kuhn and his wife Louisa Catherine Adams, the granddaughter of John Quincy Adams. Although the building was demolished shortly after the picture was taken, you can still pass by the structure to its back and immediate left, a grocery store with awning, still so operated today. And the building which replaced the Kuhn residence now houses one of the fine Beacon Hill establishments which sells tickets to the Hidden Gardens Tour.
